Router understands that the British request cabled yesterday in no wise means the scrapping of the protocol. The position is that the short time before December 8 is not considered enough give sufficient opportunity for the fullest consideration of such an important matter in consultation with the Dominions. There is no desire to turn down the present scheme without the substitution of a constructive plan.

BRITAIN'S MAMMOTH AIRSHIP.

London, Nov. 19.

A feature of the mammoth new nirahip R101, which will be constructed by the Air Ministry at Cardington for the service to India will be propellers made of steel in order to resist tropical conditions. The main part of the airship will be stainless steel. Its length will be 720 feet, height 140 feet and maximum diameter 130 feet. It will have a lifting power of 155 tons. The engines will burn heavy gas and of fuel. It is anticipated that construction will start next July, und the ship will be ready to take her home trials at the end of 1926, and make her first trial trip to India in 1927-Reuter,

The death is announced of Cardinal Michuel Logue.-Reuter,

His Eminence-Cardinal-Michael-Lugue-has-beer-Roman Catholic Primate of All Ireland since 1887. He Ay born in County Donegal, in 1840 and was formerly Bishop of Raphoe, con- secrated in 1879, In 1887 he was condjutor to the late Primate and created Cardinal in 1893.
