PRESIDENT COOLIDGE IN THE LEAD.

WHAT THE EARLY RETURNS INDICATE.

Washington, Novembor 4,

It is stated at the White House that President Coolidgo expects

a vote at the Electoral College of at least three hundred and fifty, and a Republican working majority of twonty or more in the House of Representatives next session.-Reuter's American Service.

New York, November 4.

The first returns from euch widely scattered points as Massa- chusetts, Illinois and Kansas show largo gains in favour of Pres!- dant Coolidge.--Renter's American Service.

Six hundred slaction districts in New York Slate outside Now York City show that President Coolidgo is leading, Mr. Davis coming second and Mr. Lafolletto being a poor third: but the returns of a hundred districts in New York City give Mr. Davis 29,542 votos, Mr. Coolidge 10,088 and Mr. Lafolletto 7719; while the Bouth is also mainly for Mr. Davis.
