There was heavy rainfall on the closing day at Wembley. Never- theless huge crowds arrived early, Trade was very brisk at the various pavillions. A STRANGE MALADY,

Los Angeles, November 1.

A strange malady, with symptoms resembling pneumonic plague, is balling the city federal medical authorities. The epidemic started on October 19th, with the death of a woman, since, when the husband, and eight mourner have expired. Nine other mourners are critically ill. In an endeavour to check the spread of the malady, all known to have been in contact with the nineteen victims have been quarantined.

At midnight mnadates were issued accepting the resignations of Premier Yen and all the members of the Cabinet except Huang Fu, who did not sign the joint resignation. Huang Fu retains his posi- tion of Minister of Education neurrently with that of acting Premier und Minister of Communications.

Minister of Interior, Wong Yong-chiang.
