London, Oct. 14, Labour's chances of success at the polls in likely to be seriously affected by à paet between the Conservative and Liberál Associations to put up In a steadily growing number of constituencies, nat candidates against each other where a member of the Government is standing. The conclusion of this arrangement at Pulsley was notably followed by a whalesale agreemont at Glasgow where 13.Conservatives and two Liberals will engage in ". straight fight against Labour."
Opposition will be offered to Mr. Lloyd George In Carnarvon by the Labourite, Professor A. Zimmern. Dr. Addison, ex-Coalition Minister, will fight the sitting Conservative in Hammersmith in Labour interests. The Conservatives at the present time have the largest number of candidates in the field, but the Laboúriles and Liberals are making up leeway quickly.-Renter.

London. Oct. 14. Colonel Shaw, Unionist, has withdrawn his candidature for Paisley, leaving Mr. Asquith a straight fight against the Labourite, Mr. Mitchel.
The Conservatives at Aberavon have decided not to run a can- didate, but will unofficially support the Liberal nomince against Mr. Iammay Macdonald-Reuter.

DUNLOP RUBBER COMPANY'S TROUBLES.
Settlement is announced of the Kings Beach actions by Sir Arthur pueros and others against the Dunkop Tyre and Rubber Goods, Limited, and the Dunlop Rubber Company (Far East) Limited, to enforce the payment of remuneration due the plaintiffs as members of an advisory committee to the Board of the Canadian Company for n decade from 1917, or alternatively to damages for the repudiation of an agreement. The Company un- reservedly withdrew the charge of fraud and its counter-clairn and agreed to pay very substantial damages. The plaintiffs, however, were, content to accept £31,250 by way of settlement against both companies.-Reuter.
