SPORTS.
The annual swimming sports of j The Garrison Schools took place at the Victoria Itecreation Clab yesterday afternoon in the presence of a largo gathering of parents of the pupils and their friends. There were several good races marked by: close finishes. An interesting novelty was introduced in a scratch mixed race in which girl students pitted against boys. Three prizes were provided for this event, the first two being secured by girls, There were two championship Ines, the prizes for these being! donated by Major General Sir Johäj Fowler and Lady Fowler.
At the end of the sports tho prizes were given away by Mrs. Orpen Saunders, wite of Col. Orpen Saunders, Officer Command- ing in clurge of the Currison Schools.
Capt. A. E. Watts, A..E. C., said a few words before the gather- ing dispersed, thanking Mre. Siunders, the officials and ill prizi! dunore.
