THE MOROCCAN SITUATION.

London, Sept. 167

The Spanish withdrawal from positions on the Wadlau tine in Morocco, reported on the 15th, seems to indicate that General Primo de Rivera has been able to execute the policy of establishing nes closer to Spanish bases, to which the military party objected. It la officially announced from Madrid that the situation in the Spanish zone has greatly improved and the rumours that part of the zone will be evacuated or that Spain will abandon any International pacts to which she has expressly agreed is denied.-Reuter.

ITALO-EGYPTIAN SITUATION TENSE.

A serious Italo-Egyptian situation has been called to the atton- tion of the Daily Telegraph from Cairo. The Italians are reported to be concentrating troops and seroplanes in the proximity of the Egyptian frontier which, coinciding with Italy's demand Egyptians to evacuate Soilum and Jerabub, is regarded as indicating an intention to use force unless the demands are met.
