ADMIRAL GORO IJUIN.

Tokyo, April 27-The death is reported of Baroń Admiral Goro Tjuin, former foreign minister of Japan.-Reuter.

Baron Ijuin- was born in Hal- sume in 1852. Ho. took part in the war of restoration while yet a minor, He enteral the Bayal acadomy in 1881. He was captain

ou board the Saikyo Maru in tho battle of the Yellow Sen in 1804, apd vico chief of zayn staff in 1898. In 1800 ho was made rear admhal.

He invonted the Ijuin fuse in 1000 and was duly reward- ed. Ho represented Japan with the Arama and Takaango in the coronation ceremony of the late King Edward VII. In. 1008 he Was made commander of the second standing squadron. Ho ropresent ed Japan at the Jamestown exhibi- tion in the United States in 1908.
