RUMOUR - DENIED.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY BUICK MAKERS.

In view of a great many rumours which have prevailed of laté regarding the manufacture of the Buick car, the General Motors Export Company, of New York, which controla' Buick sales, have sont to all doalors n letter of denial. Buch's letter has just been received by the Hongkong and Kowloon Taxi-cab Company, local agents for the Buick, and we gladly give it publicity. Tho latter, dated March 1st,, states:-

Gentlemon-Tho immediate and striking Buoooss of the new 1924 Bulck was such as to play. havoc among its immediato com- potitors. Doubtless by some of thom, rumours were set on foot that Buick was being sued by another manufacturer, specifical- ly mentioned; for patent infring- ments,

As these rumours became more widespread, Intorosted parties added to thom, until a number of people not having sufficient im- mediate knowledge of the motor car business to appreciate the tallacy of the story wore led to believe that Buick was actually paying this other manufacturer à royalty por car.

So far as it is known no part of this story has ever appeared in print in any American publica- tions for obvious legal reasons. However, it was always part of the rumours that a friend of somo one know some one else who had seen the story in print.
