DUTCH INDIES RUBBER TAXATION.
MONDA
Amsterdam, March 30. In authoritative rubber circles is reported that the intention of the Dutch East Indian Government to tax native grown rubber exports has been received with some reserve. The motive submitted, that it is impossible to include non-European profits in the income tax, is not considered sound. It is generally accepted that the Gor, ernment scheme is the result of a compromise with British rubber planters, for such a tax will slacken the speedy development of native rubber cultivation. The Handelsblad points out that the restriction of native rubber cultivation will be directly opposed to the policy carried on hitheata. Moreover, it remains to be seen whether it wilt be easy to keep native and plantation rubber apart-Reuter.

The subject matter of the letters has been left entire- to the writers, but in most cases they express a deep feeling of gratitude for the foreign help, received.
