SARAWAK. OIL FIELDS,

London, March 5, Presiding at a lecture by the Hoa, T. GaCochrane at the Society- of Arts, on the "Oilfields of Sarawak," Lord, Bearsted pointed out that the Sarawak field is only 630 miles from Slagapore, and the development of the field had a very important bearing on the Singa- pore Base question.

The protection of Sarawak was most important because it was linconceivable that Great Britain would ever allow that wonderful [ field to fall into enemy handa. 631 3

Lord Bearsted made a very strong protest against the Govern 1ment's attempting to develop the oil of the British Empire. He was dismayed to see the association of the Australian and British Govern- ments for the purpose of developing the oll delds in Papua and New Guinea, where hundreds of thousands sterling had been spent without result

A Virulent Epidemic.” Members of Parliament in normal times have to deal with heavy post-bags, but, in periods of political crisis their correspond-

After pointing out that this was not an ordinary case of transfer of power from one party to another, but involved for the first time the installation of a Socialist Government in the seats of the mighty, Mr. Asquith said -- Few people who have not had

He especially feared that it would create revolù- tion and disorder in the ranks of the unadvanced Moslem communities on account of the universal belief that through thạ Caliph they were in spiritual touch with their Prophet-Reuter.

HAD ALL HIS TEETH OUT.

On the Advice Of A London Specialist.

Decayed teeth are blamed for many troubles now-a days, and! it is no uncommon thing to hear of people having every tooth they possess extracted with the idea! that this will remove the cause? of their naladies.

A railway employee in Eng. land, Mr. William Ash. of Pensnett, Dudley, under-went this drastic treatment a while ago the advice of a London specialist whom he consulted on the subject of nervous weakness from which be was suffering, but in the end, as in the case of so many other victims to nervous debility, it was in Dr. Williams" Pink Pilis that he ultimately found permanent help and cure. Mr. Ash says:-

I

"Three years or so ago I felt a weakening of my nerve power. lost confidence in myself. Try as I would I could not shake myself free of it, and the more it develop- ed the more I worried. I was ex- amined by a specialis: in London. At his suggestion I had all my teeth extracted and also took to wearing spectacles. Not much improvement was noticable even after this.

"Then one lucky day I read in the newspaper about Dr. Wil liams' Pink Pills. A very short trial of these Pills convinced me, that my nerve power was return! ing. With every dose I took I felt I was building's new reserve of nerve. Now I feel a new man, and my old confidence in myself) has been completely restored.”

As a Blood Builder and Nervo) Tonic and as a remedy for dis- orders which arise from impure. watery blood and debilitated nerves Dr. Williams, Pink Pills! have enjoyed a world-wide re- putation for over thirty years. Druggists every where sell them, or post free, $1.50 per bottle, $8.00° per six bottles, from Dr. Williams' Medicine Co 60 Kiangse Road, Shanghai.
