The recent investigation of possibilities of opening trade with Datch shipping Eastern countries has resulted in an offer from a company to provide a regular service, provided New Zealand cancels its preferential duties imposed on products from Dutch Indies. It is stated that the proposal is unlikely to be entertained, since the Government prefers to make a greater effort to develop Empire trade. Reuter.
