Hongkong parents who have had doubts regarding the value of a local education need hesitate · no longer about allowing their [sons to receive their early train-i ing in the Colony. Both the Middle Temple and the great University in the City of Spires) now recognise Hongkong, which means that parents domiciled in the East who wish their sons to enter the higher professions are saved separation from their children for a long period and are also saved considerable expense.

We learned from a notification at the Supreme Court this morn- ing that Mr. Leonardo D'Almadaj e Castro Jr. the son of Mr. Leo] D'Almada e Castro,, the well- known local solicitor. has been admitted a student of the Middle) Temple for the purpose of being called to the Bar.

Mr. Leonardo D'Almada who) is only 19 years of age, received

his early training at St. Josephs! College, and afterwards became * studen: at the Hongkong) University, at which tion of learning his gave early promise of a bril iant career. Matriculating before | he reached the age of 15 and) passing his Intermediate Arts Shortly after reaching the age of 1, he certainly wasted no time at the local centre of education, jand passed out of the Hongtong

University a credit to his tutors; and to the Jucational system of Hongkong.

Mr. Leo D'Almada, who hasi just returned to the Colony by the City of Paris, has brought the news, which will be a great satisfaction tof the educational authorities in Hongkong and will no doubt relieve the minds of parents who have sons to educate, that both the Middle Temple and) Oxford have, accepted a Hong- kong University education.
