THE REPARATIONS PIPASSE.

London, Oct. 15

The latest important move in the reparations impasse is that Britain, France and Italy have agreed that the Reparations Com mission small examine into the problem of Germany's capacity to pay on the basis of the proposals Belgium submitted last June, with a view to reconciling the French and British standpointa. It is reported that the interlocking of newspaper interests has gone a step farther by the Daily Mail Trust acquiring a large interest in Lord Beaverbrook's newspapers, the Daily Express and Sunday Express.

The Minister for Communications, Herr Oeger, has issued a manifesto to the railwaymen in the occupied territory who are at present not working, to report to the Franco-Belgian regie for duty. General Mueller, commander of the Reichwehr in Saxony, has prohibited the formation of proletarian centuries" and similar organisations on the ground of their being used for the purpose of terrorising other sections of the population. The penalty is a fire of fifteen thousand gold marks. This order is a severe blow to the Saxon socialist and Communist Government, which approved of the formation of such bodies with a view to using them in case of necessity.

THE WARSAW EXPLOSION.

Warsaw, Oct. 14.

It is now stated that over two hundred person are dead and five bandred seriously injured as a result of the explosire in the citadel. Over two thousand tons of explosives were destroyed. The disaster is oficially attributed to foul play, but there is a strong bellew that careless fitting of fuses may have been the cause. Many houses in the neighbourhood of the fortress were destroyed, and the military wireless station was extensively damaged.
