AN EARTHQUAKE SUICIDE.

New York, Sept. 26.

A poignant sequel to the suicide of Mr. Inouye is the receipt of

a delayed telegram from Tokyo, addressed to Mr. Inouye, announc- ing that the first report was erroneous and that his family are safe.

A telegram, dated the 15th, stated that, while Broadway WAS crowded. Mr. Tokonosuke Inouye of the Mitsul Company jumped from the fifteenth storey of a skyscraper into the street and was instantly killed. Apparently he became demented on receipt of news from Tokyo that his wife and two children had been killed in the earthquake.
