QUR POOR OLYMPIC RECORD,

past

As Mr. Winston Churchill said at the Mansion House, the other day. Englishmen cannot look back with entire satisfation on our national record in

Olympic Games. Since their revival in 1896 they have been held six-times, and out of the sixty-five principal events Great Britain has won only eight, as fcompared with forty-seven won

by America. Mr. Churchill's! speech was delivered at a meeting) in support of the British Olympic Association's appeal for funds te. provide equipment for the British re-

proper training andi

presentative athletes selected toj compate in Paris next year. Mr. J. Grady, M.P., said he was certain that with their pençe) working men, would subscribe to the fund no less readily than others with larger sums, and Sir} Charles Wakefield added that in This recent visit to America he had been immensely struck by America's enthusiasm, for phy sical traininga nd athleigs. Ame- frica's sucosse in 'athleties of Hate had been due not to any magical spell, but to sheer hard work and determination. needed to be bolder and more! generous in our preparatory selection and training.

My wardrobe was getting to look so worn, I just had to do something to brighten it up. And that means, of course, that I took it to the Premier Cleaners, who can always be relied upon to put new freshness and charm into clothes that look tired.
