Yokohama Ablaze.
Osaka, Sept. 1.-Tutal interrup tion of telegraph, telephone and railway communications indicate the extraordinary severity of the earthquake st Takie, of which so far there is absolutely no news.

Osaka, Sept. 2-At 10 p.m. all communications with Tokyo were still interrupted, but unconfirmed reports received from a roundabout way indicate that at Tokyo this morning, there was a typhoon which subsided shortly before noon, when suddenly destructive earthquakes occurred, followed by confiagratione throwing the town into chaos and terror.
It is feared there are considerable casualties at Yokohama. The town was reported to be still burning at 8.30 in the evening. The buildings were mostly destroyed by barbour tidal waves and many houses were washed away.
A number of small towns at the foot of Mount Fuji are reported to be completely destroyed and hun. dreds of lives lost. In Shidzuoka Prefecture a warning in regard to tidal waves has been issued.
