While the cyanide mizing pro- cess was going on at the mines of the Aabant Gold Fields Co., Gold Coast, a West Obuasí. African, named Robert, broke the regulations, and, entering a vat, was overcome by the fames.

Repeatedly Mr. Morris, with rope attached to his waist, tried - to get them out till he also Was gassed.
In the end, with further assist- anco, tbres Africans. and Mr. Chardin were brought out. Only the third, African, Garuna, was brought round, however..
A court of inquiry placed on record the brave conduct of Mr... Chardin, and also commended the gallant efforts made by Mr. Skinner and Mr. Morris. It de- cided to bring the fine endeavour of the latter to the notice of the Government.
