In the case of two equally bal- anced weights, hanging from pulley, the action of removing one weight and attaching the erd of the rope to a heavy truck standing on the floor neither in creases nor dorreases the strain on the pulley. If each, weight: weighed 10 pounds, there would be a 20-pound strain on the puller in the beginning, and an equal amount at the end, as the hears trunk would merely counterac the weight of the remaining 10 pound weight.
