DEATH OF GENERAL SIR O'MOORE CREAGH.

London; August 10. General Sir O'Moore Creagh, V.C., G.C.B., G.C.S.I., is dead. [General Creagh, who received his military education at Sandhurst, had a distinguished military career, serving in the Afghan War of 1879-80 when he received his Victoria Cross, and later in the China Expedition of 1900 when he was mentioned in despatches. From 1903-1906 he was in command, 1st Class Dis- trict India and later was appointed Secretary of Military Depart ment, India. He held the position of Commander-in-Chief in India from 1969, retiring in 1914. Rorn in 1848 he was 75 years of age.]
