THE RUM RUNNERS.

Boston, Mass., July 19.

The federal court has remanded, on a bail of $3,000, for hearing- in August, the negro captain of British schooner Kaduskak, which was seized by the coastguard cutted Ossipe twenty-five miles off Cape Ann and towed into this harbour. It is alleged that the Captain participated in a rum running conspiracy. He pleaded not guilty but admitted that the schooner, when seized, had aboard 1,800 cases of whisky and gin consigned from Trinidad to St. Plørre.

His counsel contended that the Captain was arrested in violation of international law. The Kaduskak is still in the har- bour. It has not yet been decided whether she will be permitted to her take cargo to St. Pierre.
