How à gambling school which bad met on the fifth floor of the uncompleted AC building to indulge in a game of fantan was disturbed and broken up by the police in raid a carried out under the leadership of Sergeant Neal, was related at the Police Court this morning. when six mea appeared before Mr.G D. Melbourne.
About fifty of the workmen were gathered together on the floor, it was stated, when the police broke in. The staircases having not
built, yet been the officers had to climb up the best way they could to the Boar in question, but, qu'ck 19 they were, the gamblers were. even more agile. They dropped: Through the gape in the flooring to the storey, beneath, and all but six made their escape,

Evidence was heard, after which his Worship imposed a fine of $25 on one accused, who was. proved to be the banker, and $2 in the cxio.of the others.
