Andersen's and Bergens Kredit Bank, has decided to place its affairs under the public adminis tration in accordance with the new law desling with State support for weak banks. No loss will be sustained by depositors or creditors. The apital of the bank will be writtendown from 28 to ten million kroner. Development is expected to take some time, and will have no serious consequences on Norwegian trade or commèrca.

London, April 26. In the House of Commons, replying to Mr. F. Linfeld, the Hoo. W.G A. Ormsby-Gore said general instructions were not given governing the distribution of official advertisements to newspapers in the Crown Colonies. The Secretary of State would naturally leave such a subject to the discretion of the Governor in each case. He was unaware of the reported action of the Government of Ceylon in differentiating between newspapers approving and criticising its
policy.
