The Crossby Holl loaded at Java and proceeded to Colombo to take in coal, thence going to Britain.

The damage occurred through leakage from the exhaust pipe of the Captain's bath, also the inrush of seawater. The question of assess- ment of damages was settled by His Lordship under Section 503 or the Merchant Shipping Act.
