Rangoon Trading Company Limited £31,516 damages for injury to a cargo of sugar owing to the unseaworthiness of the steamship Crosby, Hall, belonging to the Ellerman Lizes Limited. The Crossby Holl loaded at Java and proceeded to Colombo to take in coal, thence going to Britain.

The damage occurred through leakage from the exhaust pipe of the Captain's bath, also the inrush of seawater. The question of assess- ment of damages was settled by His Lordship under Section 503 or the Merchant Shipping Act.

The British India Steam Navigation Company and the Scindia Steamship Navigation Company of Bombay have concluded a ten yearly agreement, thus terminating the freight war. The Scindia.
