THE NOTE TO ANGORA.

An Explanation Published.

TURKS ARE CALMER NOW.

Hester's Service

London, February 2.

An explanation of the mystery of the French note to Angora is given by the Manchester garden, which says M. Poincare sent two telegrams to Angora, the first of which urged the Turks to accept the treaty, which was far better than it could possibly have been but for the efforts of France. Angora replied indignantly accusins France of working with Britain against Turkes. M. Poincare, think- ing from the tone of the message that Turkey would reject the treaty, sent a second telegram saying the treaty must not be regard ed as an ultimarum, and that the French delegat on would anyhow] remain at Lausanne, and using other phrases to which serious objection!
