Levinson be struck off from the Rall. The Crown Advocate said that con- siderably more than six months had elapsed since His Lordship jeaned an order in November, 1920, requiring the said William 8. James Doyle, an officer of the Chinese Maritime Customs under suspension, has been sentenced to three months' imprisonment by Judge Grain at the British Police Court, Shanghai, for having in- personated an officer of the Cus- toms in order to obtain possession of a large quantity of opiam which was brought to Shanghai the China Merchants" Kiangwah DD November 12. and for attempting to obtain $7,000 from certain Chin- Pse for releasing the epium from the alleged custody of the Co- toms. The matter was brought to light by the surprise visit to the Kiangwah of an active officer of the Custon 9 on duty, who die covered Doyle and another man in the engine room, together with the opium and a number of {Chinese. f
