OPERA AT KOWLOON.

The performance of the Italian Grand Opera Company at Kow.. loon during the week-end, drew

the houses to

Star r card Theatre. Of the three operas presented, namely "La Favorita." **Madame Butterly and Lucia di Lammermoor," the latter swayed the audience to the highest pitch of enthusiasm. The famous sextette WAS brilliantly rendered, while the singing and acting of Miss Delza in the road scene was a really wonderful accomplishment. In response to the prolonged ap plause, both items were repeated.

The company are giving two additional performances, to-night and to-morrow, one of which will be the ever-popular "Faust"

"THE THREE

· MUSKETEERS”

Long and vainly might one search before finding an artist better equipped hy nature to play the part of D'Artagnan, the dashing hero of Alexandre Dumas's most famous novel, that Douglas Fairbanks, whose film version of "The

Three Musketeers" is to be shown at the Coronet all this week.

It is in every way a superlative production. It cost million dollars to make, and there are 118 people in the caste, not including supers. The story was adapted for the screen by Mr. Edward Knoblock. the well- known English dramatist, and the film is based to some extent apon the memoirs of D'Artagnan. For sheer action. "The Three Musketeers" far excels anything the mercurial Douglas had ever attempted before. Altogether six:era duels occur in the course of the picture and in one of them the hero, valiantly backed up by that redoubtable trio Athos, Por- d-Aramis, crosses swords

with eight antagonists.
