TURKEY AND THE POWERS.

London, Nov. 27.

In view of the speculations evoked by the American Observer, Mr. Child's statement at Lausanne on Nov. 25, it is noteworthy that Lord Curzon has authorised the Daily Mairs Lausanna corres- pondent to state that the British Delegation welcomes the United States' statement that there is no divergence of view between the two Governments regarding the policy of the "Open Door" in the Near East, where complate accord prevails in the matter of British and American interests.

London, Nov. 27.

M. Rakowski, the Rusan delegate, has arrived at Lausanne, ̧ Constantinople advices state that conversations between Rafet Pasha and the Allied Generals resulted in an agreement on the remaining point at issue concerning the relations between the Allied troops and the new Turkish Administration:

Paria, Nov. 27.

Over 150,000 persons are estimated to have left Constantinople during the past few weeks.

Paris, Nov. 21.

M. Rakowski, in an interview with the Lausanne correspondent of Le Matin, declared that it was Russia's intention to participate

in discussions besides the problem of the Straits (which discussion she bad especially been invited to attend).

As regards the Straits, M. Rakowski said. Russia favoured the passage of all vessels unhindered between the Black Sea and Mediterranean, but warships must not enter the Black Sea,

Russia would prefer the Straits to be controlled by the border- ing States rather than by the British Fleet. He suggested that the real freedom of the Straits was best ensured by putting them in

Those hardy tars liked the zestful flavor of Virginia tobacco. Starting from Jamestown, Virginia tobacco -taught all the world the pleasure of smoking. Originally no other to- bacco was cultivated.

Today there are many tobaccos; but, for cigarettes, Virginia is still the best liked. Virginia's golden sunshine and rich soil produce a0 appetizing freshness and a zestful taste that other tobaccos lack.

And in Old Mill cigarettes you smoke golden Virginia tobacco at its best. Try them today..
