MAHJONG IN AMERICA. That Mabjong bas taken bold of the foreign marketi is attested by the fact that the oily of Soo chow alone produces one million. dollars worth of sets every year. Each set costs roughly eight dollars to which must be added an exportlax of two dollars. These sets are then retailed in America for twenty-five collars gold. Shanghai merchants get together the best of the sets and appear to be unable to meet the American demand. The S.S. Nile is reported to have carried a ship- meat of twenty thousand sets) when it sailed on the 6th. inst.
