At a conference of the exscu- tive committee of the Association of Merchants and Manufacturers of the whole country, held in Tokyo, it was decided to hold the committee meetings once a month hereafter and to secure the sig natures of all the members of the association to a petition for the abolition of the business tax. It is intended to introduce the peti- tion in the forthcoming session of the Diet. After the conference, the committee visited the Finance Minister at his office and laid before him a representation in regard to the question.
