THE BOXER INDEMNITY.
London, July 20.
In the House of Commons, replying to Mr. Waddington, Mr. "Harmsworth said he was unaware that any nation had remitted part of its Boxer Indemnity except the United States, which, in 1908 remitted port of their share, which the Chinese Government used for education of Chinese students in America, as far as he was aware the resolution was passed in the United States Senate in August 1921, authorising the fresident to remit all payments still due. It had not yet raised the House of Representatives, and no information had been received with regard to the intentions of the United States Government thereaners.

Vienna, July 20. The nervousness of the population is strikingly illustrated by the panic which followed a newspaper announcement to increase the price of bread. A constantly growing procession headed by red fags marched to the Parliament House. Business was speedily brought to a standstill; shops shut up and hotels and banks were barricaded. The troops turned out and surrounded Parlament House preventing the approach of crowds, who sulcequsntly dis- persed without any casualties.
