The death is announced of Admiral John Moresby.
Admiral Moresby, who was 92 years of age, was an explorer and author. In 1873 he discovered the finest harbour in New Goicea, on which Port Moresby now stands. He also did much exploration work over 600 miles of previously prknown coastline. The deceased served in the Baltic as long ago as 1854 and was in China and Japan in the early sixties. He was promoted an Admiral in 1893.]
