The Automatic and Electrio Furnaces, Limited, of London, have introduced a marine-type of Wild-Barfield electric furnace for use on board ship. This type of furnace has been inspected by admiralty experts and passed for use on B.M, ships. Wild-Barfield furnaces bave been in use by the Admiralty and British and for- eiga arsenals at their shore stations for some years past.. THE JAPANESE. COTTON YARN MARKET.

The tone of the Japanese cotton yarn market has been very brisk. owing to the improvement of American raw sotton and the spot delivery market of cotton YRD. The Matsumura Shoten. the Kishi Shoten, the Hibino Shoten, and many other brokers have been active buyers. Though such bears as the Shimazu Shoten, the Noguchi Shoten, the Inoue Shotan

and

others, made strenuous efforts to defend the

positions, the market rose by bounds, and all kinds of deliveries improved between Yen 2 and Yen 3. Joly delivery advanced by Yen 6,50, August and September Įdelivery by between Yen 4 and Yen 5, October delivery by Yen 3.30, and November delivery by Yen 220 Kishi, Yagi, Miyabata, Toone, and Yui sold, and Mat- Sumura and Hibiya bought.
