Presiding at the annual meeting of the British Dyestuffs Cor- poration, Sir William Alexander stated that negotiations were pro- caoding with the Government and colour users which might have an important bearing on the future of the dye industry. Informal dis- cussions had been held between representatives of the German de industry and the Corporation with a view to a satisfactory working arrangement which would leave inviolate the principle on which the Corporation was founded, but so far the Germans were not prepared to accept the fundamental principle laid down as a basis of close negotiations.

BRITISH NATIONALITY.

Status of Children Barn Abroad.

London, June 23.

A. Bill introduced by Mr. Short in the House of Commons amending the British Nationality Acts proposes that children born abroad' of a British father be British subjects if their birth is registered at a British Consulate and the child, on attaining its majority, asserts British nationality by a declaration duly registered.

MEXICAN EAGLE RESULTS.

Dividend of 15 per cent, but Profits Show Fall.

London, June 23.

The Mexican Eagle Ou Co's trading profit for the second six mouths of 1921 was 26,800,000 Mexican gold dollara. The dividend for the six months is 15 per cent. A sum of £1,682 000 is carried forward. The profit shows a considerable decrease compared with the corresponding period of 1920,
