H. K. V. D. C. RIFLE MEETING.

Corporal Grimes Again "

Champion.

The annual rifle meeting of the Colony, held pader the auspices

of the Hongkong Volunteer De- fence Corps, opened at Stonecut tere on Saturday afternoon and continued over yesterday. The detailed results to date will be found below.

The Corps rifle championship was the principal event to be concluded this week-end and Corporal C. A. Grimes, who has won the event for the previous two years, was again the winner, the tropay now becoming his possession. He also had the dis- tinction of registering the highest scores in the open and Corps revolver competition, bur shooting in these events takes place again next week-end.

The shooting conditions were unfavourable. There was prac. tically no wind, but there was an extremely troublesome light. There were not as many entries this year as previously, and the general shooting was not of a high standard.

-On Saturday next the open machine gun competition takes place, and on Sunday the All- comers rifle competition will be held.

This week-end's results are as follow:-
