The experiment was made with ja view to promoting kems intar- schools competition, and judging by the results achieved it was a complete fuccess. The function lost none of its popularity. The schoola participating. were "the Diocesan Bara" School, Queen's Collere, . Paul's Collage. ́`St. Stephen's College, Wah School and the Ying Wah College, each institution being entitled to abter, only three boys for each event. St. Joseph's College, which had always been one of the lead- ing entrants, numerically, did not, enter this year.
There was, as usual, a big gathering of schoolboys, who vigorously cheered representatives of their respective schools. His Excellency the Governor, accom- panied by the Hon. Mr. E. Irving and Mr. Eric Rice (HE's Private Secretary) was an interested spec- istor. Of the races little requires mention, except that keen friendly rivalry was manifested in every! one of them. St. Paul's College entered bunch of "crack" sprin- ters who gained for the College the distinction of being the Cham- pion School this year in athletics. His Excellency's. Approval. Before His Excellency distribut- ed the medals, Mr. F. A. Britton, one of the Secretaries, explained the movement leading to the change which they had made this year.
