PANAMA CANAL SHIPPING AGENCY.

Shipowaars will be interested in the announcement that the Panama Canal authorities, who have hitherto acted as agents. for some yeasels in transit, will no longer continue to do so free of charge. It is understood that in the future the agency business will be conducted by the Panarea Railway Company, which is m | department of the Panama Canal, ut a fee of $50. The effect of the i now arrangements should be that owners who in the past have relied upon the Canalauthorities to look after their interests, will employ agents who are prepared to undertake the work on the
