RUSSO-GERMAN TREATY.
A Sensation at Genoa.
(Reuter's Service.)
Genoa, April 17. A Russo-German Treaty has bean signad, re-establishing diplomatic relations and mutually cancelling claims for indemnities during the war and since.
Later.
The announcement of the initialling of the Russo-Garman treaty was completely unexpected and astounded conference circles. The Germans, however, declare that no special significance attaches to the fact that it was signed at Ganos.
The German communique making the announcement says that claims for damages based upon the Soviet's socialisations are also annulled, with the reservation that Rassis does not grant socialisa tions affecting the subjects of other States. The signatories agree to Tanteach other economic reciprocity in regard to the most favoured- ination treatment.
J
* The communique emphasises that the treaty in no way affects relations with other countries, and in no way detracts from the signstories' interest in the general aims of the Genos conference.
