Servants' Wages During Strike.

too

Sir-Out of defarance to those at the Peak Club meeting yester day afternoon who considered | that the permanent withholding of servants' wagen during the strika might possibly, in certain instances, be considered drastic, may I be permitted, for the purpose of if possible, uniting opinion, to suggest the following middle course (similar to that proposed in a recent letter to the newspapers), namely:-

That payment of servable' wages during the time that they, were,.ont on strike be deferred. until the end of December.

In that way, servants would bave a pecuniary inducement, during the next few months to zemsin at their posts.

Trusting that this suggestion may receiva favourable conside ation from a large body residents.

Yours etc.
