Ther received the personal assurance of the President and the Secretary of Commerce that the Admin- istration would endeavour Ipush through the early enact- ment of the Chins Trade Act with the tax exemption features restored.

COLD STORAGE PLANT. The barbour cold storage plent Jon the water front in, Montreal is now being rapidly pushed towards completion, and, is already recognised as the handsomest and most monumental utility building in the Dominion. Over a hundred and thirty yards long and nearly forty yards in width; the building has now tan spacious floors, each large enough to drill a battalion on. Space is already available for dry storage, for which class of storage the building is designed to provide 2,000,000 cubic feet, In addition 1,500,000 cubic feet of cold storage will be provided, and another million cubic feet of coo storage, making astorage capacity totalling 4,500,000, cubic feet.
