This Year's Programme. Arrangements - arà now being made in connection with the Victoria Regatta, an event the popularity of which is proved by the fact that the first was held as 150g ago as 1849 and it is stiff "going
The Regatta strong." will be held at Easter, on Satur- day, April 15th. and Monday. [April 17th.
The sports, which will be held as usual at Black Boulder Point, |commence at two o'clock on the first day and eleven o'clock on Esstar Monday. Launches will leave Blake Pier on the Saturday at one o'clock and on the Monday at ten o'clock. They will rua st ball-hour intervals until three o'clock on each day.
The events confined to mem- bers of the Victoria Recreation Clab are the International Chal- lenge Cup four's (oce mile), Tob Sculling junior's (half mile), Lusi- tano Cup senior four's (one mile), Chinese Challenge Cup junior! four's (one mile) and Chair an's Challenge Cup four's (one mile).
Other events will be the Ho Tung's Challenge Cup four's for hongs, regiments, units, ships, corps, etc. excluding clubs (one mile), Ladies' Prize with lady coxswain and a crew picked from all who take part in the Regatta on Sunday, the 15th, the cox to be nominated by the stroke (quarter mile). Navst Whalers open to all H. M. Ships in barbour (one mile).. Naval Cutters (two miles). Officers' Skiffs (half mile), the three last with Service bosts and under Service conditions.
There will be a motor-boat race open to the Colony (eight miles), boats to be handicapped according to the estimated speed taken from the particulars on the entry form. & Police Boat Race open to the Hongkong Water Police (balf mile) and sailing races, cruiser class, handicapp class. Haywood Hars and Gale class.
Then there are the Interpart events. Singapore, Shanghai, Tientsio, Manila and Canton have been written to. but with the exception of Canton, who have answered that they will not be able to, get together crews this year, the replies are still awaited. The Interport events will include fours and pair's, senior and junior.
The Athletic meeting this year will take place on April 29th, on the Football Club Ground. It will be on the same lines as last year and will include a marathon.
