THE REPARATIONS DECISION.

FRIDAY, MARCH 24 1922

Paris, March 23,

The Reparations Commission's decisions include the following provisions: Of the 1,450,000,000 of gold marks to be paid in klad, France will receive 950,000,000, and suspension of payments tem- porarily permitted will be considered by the Commission on 31st May, who, if not satisfied that efforts are being made to meet the instalments, may demand payment of the overdue amounts within a fortnight.

In addition to stipulating that any unpaid balances for 1921 and 1922 will be considered as debt at five per cent. interest, the Reparations Commission demands that Germany immediately draw up a scheme for increasing taxation in the 1922-23 budget by at least sixty milliards of paper marks, and reducing expenditare.
