Im Portant cables have been received by shipowners interested in the navigation of the Danube, which since Dec. 14 has been frozen up, with the consequent detention of over 60 vessels. Icebreakers, it appears,—have succeeder in penetrating to Braila, and it was suticipated when the cables ware despatched that number of the vessels would be released and be able to laare at once, wheress formerly it had been expected. that they would be detained well into February or even March.

SHANGHAI FREIGHTS. Messrs. Wheelock ant Co... Shanghai, in their circular of 9th. There is no change to report in either of our Outward Freight markets since last writing sa Chins New Year has intervened since then and it is rather too soon after the holidays for
a resumption of business. The Port of Tiantain is expected to open towards the end of this week.
