BOOTS COMPANIES IN MANCHURIA FOR A
A Mukden dispatch of the 5th- instant to the Mainichi reports that the Japanese Coasal-General at Mokden bas received informa- . tion that the Japanese Govern- ment intends to introduce a maa- sure in the coming session of the Diet for the prevention of the formation of bagus companies, and the legalisation of cour panies in Manchuria establish- ed op the basis of the silver standard. Mr. Akatsika the Cansal-General, is now col- leeting the views of theMukden Chamber of Commerce, Bank of Korea. etc. On the passing of the measure many so-called cam- panies, undertakings, etc, ia Manchuria are likely to go out of existence.
KOBE AS A SILK PORT.
In a statement published on the 2nd. inst. regarding the question of the exporting of raw silk fròm Kobe, the Kobe Chamber of Com- meria states that silk weavers in the Kwansai district will not besitate to make delivery to Kobe, and that the only primary ques- tion is adequate provision for financing. However, there la no need especially to establish a Sericultural Bank, as Kobe is aiready the third money market in" the country with deposits of Y377,000,000 and outstanding loans of ¥435,000,000 (st the and of September 1921), and expects & branch office of the Bank of Japan to be established in thu near future. Referring to the need of a Silk Conditioning House, the Chamber of Commerce thinks that it will be the mora appropriate to place it under the control of the Kobe Municipality.. and, before orders are gived legal- ly to effect a compulsory survey in the Conditioning House in the near future, preparations ought to be made for meeting that survey, while, at the time of dis cretional survey being still in forea, the House must be open for general merchants use. Nearly all the influential business con- ceras bave offices of their owɑ in Kobe BO that business can be opened with ease. No icconveniences will be felt, so far as storage and godawns are concerned.
The machinery necessary for survey is estimated approximately s Yen 35,033, and the cost of erecting the laboratory at Yea 216,473. which: laboratory will spend Yon 47,680 a year. taking is for granted that 300 boxes are examined a.day.
