COTTON DEPRESSION.
Landon, Nov. 3.
Owing to the depression in the Lancashire cotton industry and the absence of fresh orders the question of organizing short time at the spinning mill, is to be reconsidered at a special meeting of the general committee of the Oldham Master Cottonapinners Association called for November 9, which is expected to recommend a ballot of members to the Federation of Master Cottonspinners Associations on the ques- tion whether to run the mills four instead of 5 days weekly bat it is doubtful whether the consent of the owners is necessary if eighty per cent of the spindles can be secured.
