London, Oct. 22. Reports from Lisbon continue to be meagre and conflicting, but quiet appears to have been resttred. The signal for the revolution was fired by the cruiser Vasco da Gama, which immediately landed" a large force of sailors and marines and captured the arsenal and strategic points without bloodshed. The circumstances surrounding the assassinations are still a mystery. The revelation is attributed to: discontent at the condemnation of the former Premier Liberato Pinto, who was punished by a military tribunal for an offence con- sidered unimportant and is thus regarded as a martyr.
