Sept. 98, 11b. 39m.-Pressure As a guide to shipmasters and others interested in the water bas increased considerably over levels of the river we have been requested by the Board of Con- N.E. Japan, the depression servancy Works of Kwangtung to publish the following table of having passed into the Pacific, water levels. The levels are taken at 10 am. each das. Changes are small since yester- day at other reporting stations. There are indications of a de- pression midway between Yap! and the Visayas. apparently moving westward.

TIME SIGNALS.

Kowloon

The time ball on Signal Hill is dropped daily at 10 .. and 4 p.m., except on Satur days when it is dropped at 10 a.m. and i p.m., and on Sundays and Holidays when it is dropped at 10a.m. only.

The ball is hoisted half mast at the 55th minute sad full mast at the 57th minute. Should the ball; fail to drop at the correct time, it will be lowered at fi minutes past the hour and the ordinary routine repeated at the following hour, if possible.

Should the time ball be out of order the above routine will be carried out with the flag "Z", on the storm signal mast.
