'China's Attitude.
TUESDAY, AUGUST 30, 1921.
In any cash only a handful of |younger China-an admittedly articulata bandful-have the faintest understanding of inter- national relations. The subject is, utterly beyond the mantal scope of the great Interior of this country. Young China, however, is aware that the maintenance of the integrity of Korea was once toma object of the Anglo-Japanese Agreement, and that solemn declarations on the paint did noth- ing to protect the Harmit King- dom from annexation by Japan.
The following statement was issued last month by the Chinese Legation in London -
The attention of the Chinese Legation has been drawn several statements bearing on Chinese policy and conditions as they are said to be in Chine, which appeared in the Press on Saturday, July 16 Inasmuch as these statements bave caused good deal of comment, the Chinese Legation fauls constrained to correct expressions of opinion which undoubtedly have been too hastily framed, since they by no means correspond with actual conditions.
