London, August 25. The list of saved from the R.38 is as follows Comnander Wann, injured; Leading Aircraftsman Davies, injured: Corporal Potter, uninjured; American Rigger Walker, uninjured; and Mr. Bateman, of the National Physical Laboratory.
An earlier message states that the sole American saved! anecumbed to iajarin, reducing the number of the survivers to four. It will be observed that in the above list the only American is stated to be uninjured.j
The Commander's Explanation.
Commander Wand, who commanded the R.38, is seriously burnt, but is progressing favourably. Interviewed at the infirmary he said:

Conjecture as to Cause of Catastrophe.
Air Ministry officials are still quite in the dark to-day as re- gards the cause of the disaster to the R.38. One opined that the ! high speed trials possibly led to weakening of the girder, putting a greater strain upon the other girders, and thus causing the collapse of the envelope; or the breaking of the metal in soy part, not itself fatal, might have caused a spark which ignited the gases. The R.38 "carried parachutes for each member of the cow and the
officials.
The American Naval Attache's office said that they were not in a position to make a statement on the disaster, as the airship had not been handed over to them. They were simply concerned with the disposal of the bodies of the American victims.
A telegram from Hull states that large quantities of wreckage iave been carried upthe Humber by the tide, and it is expected that most of the bodies will be recovered in the upper reaches.
His Majesty's Condolence.

FIRE AT HOBOKEN PIERS..
Soldiers' Remains Hastily Removed.
Hoboken, August 25.
A fire destroyed two Army store piers, but the damage was slight, as the stores had been previously removed. The liner Leviathan was scorched. The bodies of five hundred American soldiers from France lying at the pier were also hastily removed, while the liner was towed to mid-stream undamaged.

Survivor's Thrilling Story.
