Everybody knows that wenn have been smoking cigarettes in private, but very few of them have dared to go forth before the world with their cigarettes or pipes. Ob, yes, many of them have taken to the pipe. At Home women smoking is a sight that dues not arouse nuch discussion. These women who enjoyed their cigarettes at the Ascot races recently scarcely drew a passing comment.
For sheer nerve, pass a palm to Charles J. Selby, Jr., of Prescott, Arizona, whose flitting person the kodak caught in mid-air. Selby is shown leaping from crag to crag over a Grand Canyon chasm-risking his life for a thrill. Miscalculation of strength. or distance would have sent the daring jumper to certain destruction hundreds of feet below the ledges.
Suppose you were just leaving the church, after your wedding and a black cat walked out across your path. What would you do? Here it is happening. The naw lyweds are Major G. Lloyd George, and his bride. The major is a son of the Premier.
Want to break your neck?-If you seek wild ad- venture and care little tor your life take up motorcycle polo. It is being extensively played this summer on Florida, New Jersey and California beaches. The ball is knocked around by the wheel of the motorcycle.
Union College, Schenectady, N. Y., conferred the " honorary degree of Master of Arts on Maude Adams at its 125th commencement. The heroine of "Peter Pan” and other stage successes is the first woman so honoured by the college. John W. Davis, former ambassador to Britain, shown with her, also got a degree.
A dóll has been invented that really says more than papa

mama. The little girl puts a phonograph record in the doll and winds the key. The doll thus can say anything that can be put on a record.
