Capt. Hans Thompsen Dead.

The May number of "Pacific Mail," the house magazine of the Pacific Mail Steamship Company, contains news of the death of Capt. Hans Thompsen, who was one of the best known skippers in the trans-Pacific trade. Capt. Thompsen died at Manila on April 12, after he had been taken ashore seriously ill from his vessel the Weat Canob. He was 59 years of age and the most active part of his career WAS spent la the service of the Pacific Mail. His long association with its TessBis engaged in service between San Francisco and the Far East made him well-known and highly ̈ respected officer on the China cout. He had been a visitor to Hongkong, on and off, since the nineties on the old and the newer ressels of the Pacific Mail Steamship Company. The body of Capt. Thompson was interred at San Francisco.
